Is there an existing proposal for this?
Explain your idea
The proposed feature is to add support for colored ME conduits, allowing adjacent cables of different colors to avoid connecting. This feature would improve cable management, especially in complex systems where multiple lines of conduits are placed close together. By assigning colors, users can better organize their conduit networks without unwanted connections.
Why do you thing this feature belongs in Ender IO.
This feature would enhance the flexibility and usability of ME conduits in Ender IO, addressing a common issue where adjacent cables inadvertently connect. It fills a gap in the current design, giving players more control over their systems and making them easier to manage, especially in larger setups.
Are there any alternatives?
An alternative could be using additional blocks or covers to separate adjacent cables, but this is less efficient and more cumbersome than implementing a native color-coding system for conduits.
Any Additional Information?
No additional references.
You can already do this with the Yeta Wrench, no?
No, the Yeta Wrench lets you manually disconnect conduits and view hidden ones to see what’s connected, but it doesn’t prevent unwanted connections automatically or organize them by color, which the proposed feature would address.
I could be wrong, I'm not fully aware of the capabilities of the Yeta Wrench.
#1025 has made it possible to add colored ME conduits - I'll try to get some textures together and add the colored conduits to base Ender IO for the v8 update :)
